The High Line park
A 1.45-mile (2.33 km) long ship park in southwest Manhattan, New York City.
Inspired by the Promnard Plante in Paris, which opened in 1993, instead of demolishing the 1.45 mile (2.33 km) high-end freight rail line that operated on Manhattan's Lower West Side, it was re-used as a park by planting flowers and trees on the high streets.
The park stretches from Meatpacking District to 30th Street, a block south of 12th Street, past Chelsea District, and reaches West Side Yard near the Jabbits Convention Center. With the creation of High Line Park, the development of nearby real estate became active.
In the case of Japan, the Tokyo Expressway has a plan to park the overpass similar to Seoul in Korea.
In the case of Korea, Seoul Metropolitan Government built the Seoul Station Overpass as Seoul 7017 with this park as a model. In Korea, from 2002 to 2010, Gwangju Blue Road Park was created in Gwangju Metropolitan City as a citizen participation type using the closed line site in the city center.
