 Shinjuku Gyoen park

It is a park in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Japan. It is 583,000m2 wide and 3.5km around, the largest in the Shinjuku area.

Tuesday~Sun 09:00~16:30 (Entrance deadline 16:00), closed on Monday

In the Edo period, a part of the land where the Naito family's residence was located in Shinshu Dagato-bunju, became an imperial property after going through a farming test site in the Meiji period in 1872, and in 1906, the imperial garden was completed by Professor Henry Martin, who was commissioned by Fukuba Hayato.

After World War II, it was managed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and opened to the private sector at the same time, and was moved to the newly established jurisdiction of the Ministry of Environment in 1971 and is still in operation.

It is the main location of Makoto Shinkai's animated film, The Garden of Languages.

Among his works, Takao Akizuki and Yukino often visit Japanese gardens.

Originally, it is a beautiful park, but the rainy weather is added to make it more beautiful and emotional.

After the movie was released, a sign was even made inside the park saying that it was a pavilion and a bridge from the garden of language.

In addition, Yukino Yukari drinks beer while eating chocolate in the park, but in fact, drinking is prohibited in Shinjuku Gyoen, so be careful.
